If you are in NYC during September 22-24, this may be just about the coolest thing that you could do. The Come Out and Play Festival is all about street games in the middle of New York City. It is three days of play, talks, and celebration, all focused on new types of games and play. And when I say new types, I mean it. Check out some of the offerings:

1. Sleuth: A Master Criminal is loose in New York City. You must track him down and capture him.
2. Insider: A real running of the bulls! Trade stocks in this game of vicious backstabbing and inside information around Wall Street.
3. Space Invaders: Play a giant game of Space Invaders on the side of a building, with your body as the controller!

and my favorite:

4. Manhattan Megaputt: a gigantic game of mini golf, played in Manhattan’s beautiful East Village. Teams of three battle each other, designed game hazzards, and naturally occurring hazards such as cabbies, skate punks, and pedestrians as they navigate a par 1000 course.

If those don’t tickle your fancy, check out some of the other games you can sign up for on their website.
